Omar Minaya had Brain Freeze…

Dr. Roto was right on the money with his twitter update yesterday. What a brilliant pick-up by Billy Bean and the A’s in getting Scott Hairston.

Which leads me to the following thought; WHERE WERE THE METS? It’s like playing Where’s Waldo with these guys! Omar, did you eat your Italian Ice to quickly? Did you have Brain Freeze?

Fine Mets, you sit there and finish the season 75-87 because you don’t want to trade Bobby Parnell. So what is your motto going to be in next year’s promo to season ticket holders? “We beat the Washington Nationals by 10 games?”

Exactly what role is Parnell supposed to play on this team, protect imaginary leads in the 7th and 8th innings?

What is wrong with these guys? The build a new stadium for the Dodgers (I mean the Mets), then they have some injuries (that happens) and then they just give up?

Hairston only makes $1.25 million and would have been a great affordable stopgap to help out until the return of first baseman Carlos Delgado, shortstop Jose Reyes and outfielder Carlos Beltran (if they ever do return).

Hairston who was playing his home games at Petco Park, hit 10 home runs for the Padres, a total that would have tied him with Gary Sheffield for the Mets' team lead.

Great job Omar. You know it’s funny (not ha ha funny), when you were GM of the Montreal Expos there was absolutely no pressure on you and you were considered at the top of your profession. Perhaps it is time you consider somewhere less high profile again – LIK ANYWHERE BUT HERE! – Dope.
