What a brilliant pick-up by Billy Bean and the A’s in getting Scott Hairston.Which leads me to the following thought; WHERE WERE THE METS? It’s like playing Where’s Waldo with these guys! Omar, did you eat your Italian Ice to quickly? Did you have Brain Freeze?
Fine Mets, you sit there and finish the season 75-87 because you don’t want to trade Bobby Parnell. So what is your motto going to be in next year’s promo to season ticket holders? “We beat the Washington Nationals by 10 games?”
Exactly what role is Parnell supposed to play on this team, protect imaginary leads in the 7th and 8th innings?

Hairston only makes $1.25 million and would have been a great affordable stopgap to help out until the return of first baseman Carlos Delgado, shortstop Jose Reyes and outfielder Carlos Beltran (if they ever do return).
