Empty

Everyone in the NY metropolitan area is talking (complaining really) about Yankee Stadium and the empty seats. This topic has been discussed on this site before, and the fact that the Yankees exhibited such greed whereby they over priced the tickets and can’t sell them has even been made fun of. It is a particularly hot topic now given that the Mets will be there this weekend and everyone seems to “want to see” if those empty seats get filled.

As a fan of a team why would you care if the ball park was full or not? If you owned the team that would be one thing, but as a paying fan / customer what you want is an entertaining day and a win in the column. Frankly, I would be happy going to one of the Mets vs. Yankee games only to find that there are some empty seats. That makes for less hassle in the ball park, and less hassle getting in and out.

If a player on the team I am rooting for hits a home run, I could care less if there is a guy in front of me cheering or not as long as the HR counts. I must be missing something. But hey, I’ve been told that I routinely miss things and that’s why I finish last all the time. – Peter Costa

Not only has Peter never finished in the money; he’s finished last 13 times and no higher than 10th (in a league with 14 guys). Join us in following Peter’s trials, tribulations and frustrations, as he attempts to navigate his way out of the basement in 2009.
